winged Jesus custom

This is a winged Jesus custom action figure I finished up for the holidays and he came out better than I thought he would. I used a ML variant Sentry as my base figure and removed the cape, smoothed the legs and shoulders down with resin and repainted him. After that, I drilled a hole in his back for the DCD Hawkman wings that I spray-painted gold and glued those in using epoxy glue. The halo is a piece from a superglue cap and rest of the armor are pieces from my parts drawer, mostly McFarlane scrapes. The crosses are metal and were in a pack of religious charms I got at Wal-Mart ($1.60) and the spear is from a DCD Spectre. I wanted to do a Jesus that looked authentic with an air of godly whupass about him + he but could go toe-to-toe against any McFarlane or Marvel Legends figures and kick their collective heathen asses.

Hawkgirl custom

This is a recent Hawkgirl I did in the style of the Ed McQuiness Superman/Batman comics. I used a DCD JLA Classified Wonder Woman and boiled the figure to remove the hairpiece, which came off in once clean piece. Next I clipped off her belt hook and smoothed her over with resin then sculpted the helmet and the boot claws. I used cut vinyl for the arm bands and the side-pieces of the helmet. Using the Dremmel, I dug out 2 small holes in her back and placed in the wings which I got from an Identity Crisis Hawkman (the mace is from this figure too). The belt I found in my parts drawer and it has a small hawkhead decal on it. I used small iron-on jewels for the studs on the wrist bands. After the resin was dry and sanded, I painted her up and sealed her with Dullcote.
