Star Spangled Kid and Mr. Terrific customs

This is a set I just wrapped up for a guy in Australia. The SSK was a flat-out pain to finish since all those stars are separate decals and had to be applied one-by-one. I used a JLA Flash for SSK and a Booster Gold for MT.

Oh boy!

I'm not even a huge Iron Man nerd but damn, this looks like a lot of fun. The movie website is very well done and worth a looksee.

The New Frontier DVD & Comic Special

I really love The New Frontier by Darwin Cooke and think the DVD is worth picking up. It's obviously not the graphic novel shot-for-shot but it does a great job of getting the feel of Cooke's art and message across. The DC Comics one-shot is absolutely terrific and a must for any New Frontier fan.

Weather Wizard custom

This Weather Wizard custom was created using a DC Direct Effigy figure for the base. After clipping off the fiery hair, I used resin to sculpt new hair, shoulder pads and to fill in the seams on the back of the figure. The collar was made using cut vinyl and adding resin to connect it to the body. The wand is a spare part painted gold and glued into place. The rest is acrylic paints and Dullcote sealer.

Laira becomes Red Lantern

This is a custom Laira that got turned into a Red Lantern once the person who bought it got his hands on a copy of Green Lantern #28. The base was a DC Direct Tomorrow Woman.

Nemesis Kid custom

This is a Nemesis Kid customs I made from a DC Direct Sun Boy. I clipped off the shoulder peaks and smoothed them over with resin. Once dry, I painted him with acrylics and sealed him with Dullcote.
